General Electric Refrigerators

General Electric is among one of the most popular and long standing companies in the country. It was first formed in 1892 when the Edison General Electric and Thomas-Houston companies merged. Edison General Electric was originally created by American inventor and scientist, Thomas Edison.

Four years after it was first formed, General Electric became one of the original 12 companies that were listed on the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Today, it is still the only company of the first 12 to still show up on the Dow.

General Electric brought about many new changes in various industries it was involved with during its first century.  In 1919, General Electric founded the Radio Corporation of America in hopes of furthering international radio. The Radio Corporation of America, or RCA, began selling radios and related equipment until RCA branched off in 1930.

Today, consumers associate the General Electric name with a long list of household appliances. From stylish washers and dryers in many bold colors to microwaves, ventilation systems, disposal units, and trash compactors, General Electric makes something for just about every room in the house.

Refrigerators and similar appliances produced by General Electric are abundant. To help the efforts of environmentally conscientious families, consumers can find Energy Star qualified products that help reduce energy usage and water consumption.

General Electric refrigerators come in a wide range of styles and sizes. There are modern looking chrome designs that feature side by side and French doors with bottom freezers as well as the standard top freezer models in traditional white.

Unique features found on General Electric refrigerators include the CustomCool drawer that comes with three settings, the LightTouch! Tall Water Dispenser, and the Quick Ice ice maker.
